It was a three-floor abandoned house with balconies, and huge terraces right at La Jolla Beach in San Diego. Only this one room had an open door. While I was lurking around, trying to push one of the other locked doors, thinking we can get in and stay there - the door suddenly opened from the inside and I freaked out big time. A big guy introduced himself as a contractor, told us some bullshit stories about this motel and showed us around. We left and both agreed that he wasn't a contractor.
